Built for the winters that break other decks.

Chicago puts a deck through a cycle most of the country never sees. Ground freezes, ground thaws, everything above it moves. Salt gets tracked across the boards from November to March. Lake humidity sits on the structure all summer. We build for all of it.

Footings below the frost line

Every post sits on a footing dug deep enough that the ground moving in January does not lift your deck out of level.

Flashing at the ledger

Where the deck meets your house is where the water wants to go. Properly flashed and properly bolted, so it stays out of the rim joist and out of your wall.

Hardware that survives salt

Galvanized and coated fasteners throughout. The screws should not be the thing that fails first.

Boards that hold their color

Composite systems rated for freeze thaw and UV, in colors that still look the same in year ten as they did on the day we swept up.

You approve the deck before we order a board.

3D Renderings

Swap the board color, move the stairs, widen the landing, add a level. See it all before anything is ordered.

Architectural Plans

Permit ready drawings with framing, footing and load detail. What the city needs to approve it and what our crew builds from.

Three steps, no surprises.

01

Free Design Visit

We come to your home, measure the space, listen to how you want to use the deck, and bring material samples so you can see the boards in your own light.

02

Clear Plan and Locked-In Price

A layout, a 3D rendering, an exact price with the scope written out and a realistic finish date. We handle the permit and the material ordering.

03

We Do the Whole Job

Demo, footings, framing, decking, railings, stairs, lighting and final cleanup. Our own full time installers, start to finish, never random subs.

TimberTech requires significantly less routine maintenance than traditional wood decking. Its composite and Advanced PVC products are engineered to resist moisture and everyday outdoor wear while maintaining a natural wood appearance.

TimberTech Composite contains wood-based fibers and polymers, while TimberTech Advanced PVC is made from engineered polymers without wood fillers. Advanced PVC offers enhanced moisture resistance, while composite provides durable, low-maintenance decking at a range of price points.

The cost depends on deck size, height, material collection, framing, railings, stairs, site access, and additional design features. We provide a detailed project estimate after reviewing your property and construction requirements.

In some cases. Existing framing must first be evaluated for structural integrity, code compliance, appropriate spacing, and compatibility with the selected TimberTech material.

Yes. TimberTech offers collection-specific limited warranties. Advanced PVC products have a Limited Lifetime Product Warranty with applicable fade and stain coverage, while composite warranty terms vary by collection.

Yes. Chicago Luxury Decks serves homeowners throughout Chicago, Winnetka, Wilmette, Glencoe, Northbrook, Glenview, Highland Park, Lake Forest, and nearby suburbs.
